July 2021. The HEAL Fund was established in 2021 to support New Mexico organizations addressing the needs of vulnerable children, families and adults seeking asylum in the United States. The effort is a public-private partnership that includes the state of New Mexico, New Mexico Foundation, Santa Fe Community Foundation, Con Alma Health Foundation, and the Thornburg Foundation. The partners created the fund with the belief that adults, families, and children entering the United States to flee from persecution and violence in their home country deserve trauma-responsive supports so they may have a successful transition to a safe, healthy, and productive life. The Foundation awarded both ABQ FaithWorks and the 5-Site Council an award for work with this population. Community helping community - Thank you New Mexico Foundation!
