On December 21, the staff participated in the 2023 Homeless Persons' Memorial Vigil, remembering the lives of the unhoused who passed away this year. We participated in a silent march to the Albuquerque Indian Center, where we listened to songs, poems, and the calling of the names of unhoused people who have died this year.

On December 22, the entire staff participated in our monthly Food Distribution at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church. ABQ FaithWorks gives out 1,200 lbs of food monthly for Asylum Seekers in our city.

On December 23, we had our gift distribution at the Cathedral of St John Albuquerque. The Cathedral generously donated gifts for our families in our Asylum Program, as well as food for a holiday meal, including the choice of a turkey or a ham.

As 2023 came to a close, the staff at ABQ FaithWorks left with grateful hearts. We hope 2024 is an excellent year for you and your family. Happy New Year!

A collaborative spirit is behind the heart of ABQ FaithWorks and our congregations help bring that alive.

On December 17th, Monte Vista Christian Church, held a concert that benefited ABQ FaithWorks. The concert featured Vista Voices, Vista Bells, La Rondalla, Albuquerque Girl Choir, UNM String Quartet and more.

Thank you, Monte Vista Christian Church, for organizing a great event and for your thoughtfulness in asking for donations. We appreciate you and all the congregations in our collaboration.

We wish you all a happy and safe Holiday Season!

ABQ FaithWorks Collaborative is a non-profit organization whose mission is "to be a proactive interfaith community which leverages shared resources in support of asylum seekers and people who are unhoused, or at the risk of becoming so. Together, we learn, serve and advocate with our clients. We aim

to set the standard for a collaborative community response."

Our current focus is on asylum seekers resident in Albuquerque, whom we can assist with volunteer case managers, or ‘Family Liaisons’, with food and transportation options. We also work to prevent eviction and to rapidly rehouse those who have lost housing out of the larger precariously-housed population.
