We are super excited for the upcoming concert this Sunday, November 12th at 4pm.

Musicians include two former Principal players from the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra (NMSO) who chose to move back to their beloved New Mexico after retiring from their esteemed careers in other orchestras. Luis Baez was Associate Principal Clarinet, and often Acting Principal Clarinet in the San Francisco Symphony for 30 years. Peter Bond was a trumpet player in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra for 28 years. Krzysztof Zimowski and Joan Zucker retired as Concertmaster and Principal Cellist of the NMSO and NM Philharmonic in the last couple of years.

Other marvelous musicians on the roster include:

Janosch Armer, violin, who recently moved to Albuquerque after 17 years performing in Dresden, Germany as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician; Brynn Marchiando, who plays Principal Trumpet with the Santa Fe Symphony and is a member of the NM Philharmonic and Opera Southwest orchestras; Byron Herrington, trombone, who conducts the Albuquerque Symphony, plays in and conducts the NM Philharmonic, and is Principal Trombone of the Santa Fe Symphony. Other musicians performing are part of a pool of terrific players who perform in many of the orchestras in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas. These players include: Sigrid Karlstrom viola; Olivia de Souza Maia, violin, (a graduate student at UNM); Maria Long, french horn; Christopher Vargas, tuba. Virtually all of these fine musicians teach privately or in schools. The Macedonian pianist Natasha Stojanovska is a concert pianist who recently finished her doctorate at Northwestern and has performed as soloist and accompanist around the world. Juani de la Isla, from Spain, is an internationally acclaimed virtuoso flamenco guitarist and composer, who is now affiliated with Casa Flamenca in Albuquerque.

ALL MUSICIANS PERFORMING IN THIS CONCERT ARE DONATING THEIR TIME, which includes many hours of practicing and rehearsing. We are so grateful to them! Congregation Albert is generously donating the concert space. This means that every dollar of the ticket price goes to ABQ FaithWorks!
